    Really worth it

I have been out of the 11 meter hobby for thirty plus years now but like to browse EBay for the older grear. I keep seeing certain radios fetch higher prices and I always wonder why. What is your favorite Ham or CB Radio of all time?

My favorite HF is the Yaesu 101ZDMKIII, favorite VHF is the ICOM 275A. As for 11 meters, that would be the Uniden Grant, excellent RX with good audio and clear SSB TX.

I have worked in IT for almost 40 years now. I hold many Micro$oft certs and deal with Windoze PCs and servers daily. My main PC runs Linux KDE Neon, but for my photography, I use a Mac (which has much better color management). I have one Windoze PC that I use to program radios; it does not have...

Bands, Frequecies, and radios useful for road trips/ RVs in the midwest and westrn US?

As has been said a sat phone is your best bet. If you want to travel with ham gear then you want a general class license and use HF. VHF and UHF will be mostly useless.
