They had three mag mounts on Fleabay a few months back. The mounts are good, but the feed through us garbage and needs to be redone.

Lowest I could get on the Nano VNA analyzer was a 1.5 so far. I cannot remember, but it was 1.5 across most of the band. I did not wish to mess with it further, and have been running the PC-122 into a KL-203 for 1.5+ years with zero issues. You may want to try a different antenna in the future...

It will be interesting to see how you get along on this. I have only experimented with the dds types on old 23ch rigs. Got some good results though!

I use the vacuum pump setup. Its a hand operated pump that has a reservoir on it. Dont have to pump the brakes. The gravity method works well also, but I just figured the pump could speed it up a bit when needed.

Last time I ran into this situation, the master cylinder was defective but not leaking. Just an idea.

Depending on the wattmeter that does not sound out of line per se. I have a EE model that puts out about 130pep on SSB. AM is around 50 watts pep from as low as I can run the carrier.

I have had to trim whips a few times myself also. Do you have another vehicle you could try the antenna on to see if you get drastically different results by chance? Just a thought. I had a tram antenna on a Honda Passport with zero issues, but once I put it on a mag mount atop a 2000 Nissan...

They did make one with a wattmeter as well as SWR. Looks very, very similar.

I never had a bit of trouble with those Micronta meters as far as SWR. I quite liked them. (The one pictured)

Check your coax also near where it was kinked. May not be likely if it was not kinked for long, but if it was there could be some damage within that may or may not manifest itself with the symptoms you describe once straightened. I had it happen once in the mobile. Had to cut it back a bit an...
