Just got a new Delta M2 mic and noticed the audio takes about 1/2 second to start after the push to talk button has been pushed. As long as you remember to wait just a bit the mic has good audio but if you don't wait you'll loose the first few words on your transmission. Any one else noticed...
I have a 7200, it's a tuff little radio that just works. Simple to operate and mine has survived many portable operation. Wish it was still in production.

I got my hands on an old tube AM radio and would listen to the clear channel stations coming in at night, made me want to be a DJ. Back in the 60's I saw a FM transmitter kit in the Green stamp catalog, talked my grandmother out of enough books to get it.

I had one of the newer 148's, voice warbled on SSB. Did OK on AM. Still have a 959, great AM rig, OK on SSB. Currently using a 980, rock steady on SSB, good receive, and nice features. Once you get rid of the beep it's the better of the 3 I've had.
Sorry to hear yours died so soon, new doesn't always mean it's going to be trouble free. I'm using one daily, got it right after they started selling them. Did the beep mode, unlocked the clarifier, cranked the dead key down and added a CR577 mic. Everyone says it's one of best sounding radio's...
