I've had this little amplifier put away for quite some time. It does a good 60 watts when not overdriven. Small by today's standards, but still a good little amp.
The preamp is not working. The relay engages, but the receive doesn't appear to increase. I think the PN2907a transistor has...
This past winter I set up this Cobra 148GTL with a brand new "The Mod" board and a used FC390 counter. I had intended on putting this in my pickup truck and using it for both CB and the lower part of 10m SSB.
A few months ago at a hamfest, I picked up a HR2510 and have since been going back...
Last week I picked up a Midland 78-976 40 Channel AM/SSB Cybernet base station on Ebay in "unknown" condition.
It arrived a couple of days ago and when I started testing it, I found that the receive was working well, but I had no transmit.
I was able to cross-reference it with the 79-892...
Isn't it funny what you can find with Google... Google is amazing sometimes :D
Here's our little CB Cop's address
And what do we have here?!?! Our little CB cop discussing the Wouxon radios from Japan... I seem to remember the FCC having a big problem with these radios being imported due to...
Blue should go to RX (Pin 4 on most cobra/uniden 4pins)
Yellow should go to TX (Pin 3 on above)
White should go to Audio (Pin 2)
Red/Black to 12v/ground respectively
I think the above poster was correct that if you ground the white striped wire it will disable the beep, but I can't be 100% on...
Looks very similar to "The Mod" that is available for the MB8719 chassis. I have one in a 148 and it covers all the way up into 10m. Have actually used it on 28.400USB to make a few QSOs
Trolls... Trolls... they're everywhere :D
When he's a big enough man to walk into my house and shut off my radio, I'll worry about him.. until then he's just another idiot who hides behind a keyboard and anonymity.
As for hams always following rules and regulations just listen to 75/80m, some...
Well said. I've been a ham since the early 1990s. Started as a Novice and upgraded to Extra... back when it meant passing a 20wpm morse code exam. Have absolutely no problem with just about any of the threads that get posted here..
I quit going over to the 'Zed for anything other than the...
Currently offering a Radio Shack HTX-242 2 Meter mobile transceiver on Ebay. This radio features 40 memory channels, 1 calling channel, and 2 VFOs with dual watch capability.
Radio has been used mobile and shows the normal cosmetic wear/tear.
Brand new power cord is included...
Your physical license will come to you in the mail. The FCC is a lot faster than they used to be.
When I was first licensed in the early 1990s it took almost 6 weeks to get my license in the mail. Seemed like it took even longer for my technician to arrive. Was "Temporary KT" for what seemed...
If we're talking personal protection only, I'm going to have to stick with my Kimber Custom II 1911 .45 auto and AK47 7.62x39mm semi auto rifle.
12ga pump and .22lr are hard to beat though. I'd hate to think I'd have to survive with only the .45 and the 7.62
*Bump*
Still looking for a set of covers, or top cover, for a HR2510.
Covers from the President Lincoln or HR2600 should fit this radio as well.
It's a stretch, but I'd bet a set of covers from a Radio Shack HTX-100 would work also.
This week I have listed a very nice Realistic Pro-2006 scanner on ebay. This scanner is a 400 channel programmable unit and is 100% operational.
The scanner comes with a bnc telescopic antenna, the owners manual, and the original retail box. It is in near-mint condition. The only thing...
I'm looking for a Top Cover (Not Speaker Side) for a HR2510. A cover off of a President Lincoln / Realistic HTX100 should work well.
Will buy both covers if I have to, but I only need the top cover. I bought a nice HR2510 a couple of weeks ago, but the owner had installed one of those slide...
