The swr's are good in the 10 meter band, my antenna is not very broadbanded and is only good from 27.700 to about 28.500. It is no more than 2.0, more like 1.5 or less in the 10 meter band. I think it is just the cheapo watt meters can not see the ssb power on peaks. The am power is about the...
I think it is the swr, watt meter maybe. I found a real old Palomar electronics meter I have had since the 70's and it shows pretty consistant power above and below 28 mghz. The 2 radio shack meters don't agree with this and show low above 28. I need to get a dummy load and a better meter to be...
I sent it to Rogerbird for repair and tune. I have 3 swr power meters, 2 radio shack and one workman. The workman shows about the same power above and below 28mhz. The radio shacks show a big drop above 28mhz. My other 2510 does not do that on the radio shack meters the power is about the same...
One of my 2510's has low power on the 10 meter band, maybe 8 watts ssb. Below 10 meters it is strong, 30 watts or more. It has been to the 2510 expert twice now and still does this. What could it be? I am about to give up and sell it, can't afford to keep shipping it back and forth.
Yes I had the diode in the correct position. I did the 3rd mod with a diode and resistor going to q127 base and that did the trick. I need to send it back to Rogerbird because it has started having a power problem now. I just got it back from Roger but these things are old and you never know...
I tried the mod #2 on Rogerbirds site for talk back removal and it did not work. I can still hear audio thru the internal speaker when transmitting. I used a 1n4148 diode and the mod calls for a 1n914a I think it was but the spec sheet shows them to be almost identical. Anyone do this mod or try...
:sad:What might cause a 2510 mic gain not to limit the ssb output. I usually push it in for the lower gain to drive an amp but this radio I just started testing that does nothing. I think it is an attenuator of about 10 db when active.
They have not been made for years. There is one on Ebay now, it is the entire processor tray but the guys wants like $300. I have seen them on Ebay before and they seem to pull in big money. I can not justify spending that on a 25 year old radio. Most of the features I would never use any way.
The 2 caps behind the processor chip near ic314 I think it is. One is a .1 and the other is a 2.2 micro-farad. Change them out and it should fix your issue.
Do you think these will sound or work better than a well tuned 2510? I am thinking of getting one but started thinking about dropping $300 bucks for one. I already have a couple of 2510's and a 2600 that work fine and a htx100 so not sure. I like some of the features and some not so much. Roger...
I replaced 2 caps on the processor board that are part of the start up delay, they are in the left corner of the board, both electrolytic. Later I found my fuse holder on the power cord was broken, I think that was the problem all the time and not the caps. I have replaced a dozen or so caps in...
What might cause my 2510 to delay when turning on? I went to turn it on the other day and it took about 5 seconds before it powerd on. It only did it that one time but must be a cap or something fixing to go bad.
There is a new in the box Lincoln on ebay, $495. The ebay police will get it soon but might not sell at that price. Sure would like to have a Lincoln but out of my price range.
Tram Diamond 60 with stock mic and new Turner rk 56 noise cancelling mic. Worked last time I used it about 2 months ago but have not used it lately. A vintage classic 23 channel am, usb and lsb radio from the 70's. Put out full power at 8 watts ssb and about 4 am, I thought it was low on ssb but...
HR-2600 Doc tuned with adjustable power and unlocked claifier, HTX-100 Rogerbird just aligned it and checked it out. 2 mikes, stock and a Kenwood with up/down buttons like the stock mic. Think I have the boxes for both. Clean radios and never mobile. $350 for both plus shipping or make offer for...
Anybody ever try to epoxy a heatsink fin back together? I had a bent one and tried to straighten it like an idiot and it snapped off. They make some bad ass epoxy these days may try it.
