I have noticed that when Ham operators shoot down CBer's they are insecure with them selves about something. They need to lighten up, ham radio is fun and CB is fun.

A friend bought one and brought it over so we could put it on 11m, the mod worked, 4 watts on low 30 watts on high, we did not give it a work out to see if the power would drop. The 200 sounds good but could use a little more modulation.

I have an F model that I was trying to tune up on 10 meters and could not find the 10m freq that I was xmiting on, turned out to have 11m crystals ! I put 10m crystals in and it works. The only wierd thing is that I can only get 15 watts out on SSB. It is for sale.

I bought a new 840 three years ago from AES for $499, there messing with us !

As y'all know the bands opened up day before yesterday, so I worked a little skip. I went down to 26 mhz and made contact with a station in LA. He said the radio ( 150 gtl ) sounded garbeled and my freq. chart showed us on 26.665 and he said we were on 26.695 ? Everything works normally on CB...

Has anyone used one of those noise choppers that H&Y Electronics sales ? Is it an noise blanker or a atenuator ? I am picking up a high pitch noise when my engine is running (fuel pump?) when I disconnect the antenna it's gone.

That's to cold for me, temps have been above normal for a few weeks now in central Texas, yesterday the high was 81 !

Hi all, I am new here. Been looking at the site for about a month or two and enjoying it. I was into CB's from about 1975 till 1985 then got into Ham radio and dropped the CB's. My job changed in away that I would be driving a 50 mile stretch of IH-35 about three times a week so I thought a CB...

I got one for $99 just in time, the next day they went up. I wonder if it was a mistake ? Nice radio, great audio reports and good receiver too. I have left it alone except for putting it on the 11 meter band. Anyone know what the 10 khz switch does ? I can't tell a differance on TX or RX.
