Yup its there and it sucks, almost makes those birds unusable, definitely not fun to work them. My mast mounted Preamps help it some. Kicking my Butt I sold the Ft-847 before I was sure on the Flex 5000 deal .. Oh well live and learn. The TS-2000 is a nice rig and I think the RX might be a tad...
Well I get over night ups from HRO in NH. The TS-2000 arrived yesterday and I immediately made a few contacts on the Satellites with no preamps. Today I will take down my AR2 Preamps and remove the DC Chokes. I already ran power wires up to power up the preamps. The FT-847 allowed powering the...
Well I guess I will be the owner of a new TS-2000 as of tomorrow. I sold my FT-847 as I had a deal going for a loaded Flex 5000, but as I should have figured, the deal was too good to be true and the FT-847 is already on its way to the new owner. At least I have plenty of cash for the new...
I almost ended up with a TS-2000 but I had read in a few places about some birdies in the FM Satellite bands so I bought a used FT-847. I look forward to hearing about the TS-2000 and how it does on the birds.
My FT-847 has been working real well, I also use it for digital stuff on HF.
Yup, I have read all of Rich's stuff and there are a couple of others that have decent web pages with all the MOD's. This amp was loaded with all the MOD's when I got it. It seems the 922 series has almost a cult like following. It really is an awesome piece. :thumbup1:
There are a couple of Parasitic Supressor MOD's out there for the 922, I found the loop style on E-Bay http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5336136228&icep_item=250874212084. For $19 how could I pass it up. My AMP already had the MOD done with a...
Those old Rat Rigs are made out of Aluminum Honey Comb Panels, definately not bullet proof. That looks like one that would be mounted on the old CUCV Pickup Trucks, they really didnt mount them in trailers. The Bigger square ones were alot nicer but needed a big truck to move them or trailer...
Official military records are requested through the Freedom of Information Act from the National Records archives. These are the official Military records, certain portions are blacked out due to Privacy Act but it will basically outline someones military career to include schools and awards...
Sounds like most of the BS stories you hear, they all start out
"No Shit there I was"
But seriously I hear you on the current domestic problems, but what can a HAM do about it except vote one corrupt politician out and vota another in. At least this is a little something you can do...
Are you aware of the millions of tax dollars these liars steal from the US by falsifying records to support their claims, not to mention it is a Federal Offense.
So it does in fact effect everyone to some degree, but unfortunately there are way too many out there that say it doesnt effect me...
Here is an Article I wrote that is posted on K1TP's web site As the World Turns:
The Darker Side of Amateur Radio
By W1MSG, Craig R Gagner
I have been involved with Amateur Radio since 2000, and as of last year I finally completed my upgrade to General Class which has opened many new...
The meter lamps on the TL-922A are pretty dim to say the least and a friend said I should try a LED upgrade. Well I found some directional LED Bulbs that are inexpensive and should do the trick.

Upon arrival I knew I would have to remove the LED from the...
Actually the top stays cool as a cucumber. I have my DL2K Dummy Load and a SWR Meter, both sides are completely vented and the fan vents out the back. The whole thing seems really cool with the exception of the exhaust air hehe.
Well a friend of mine decided to part with a beautiful TL-922 which has had all of the mods done to it, if its out there its been done. It will do a full 1600+ into a dummy load. Just a really fine piece of equipment and looks awesome in the shack ..
I am using an ARB-704 to interface with my...
Well alot of changes in a short period of time. I got rid of my FT-950 and have the Flex SDR-1000 as my main rig now. Added the audio rack and moved things around a bit ..
