Are you running a keyer for the relay?? With that radio, you'll need to run some sort of keyer. I use the ARB-704. Works great!!

Well, I've been pondering the idea of selling off all my CB/10M equipment and picking up a Yaesu FT-857D for the mobile. I have a Yaesu FT-897D for my base, and really love it. I would think 100W in the mobile would be sufficient. Not a really big AM guy, so SSB & FM would be my primary modes...

Anyone running, or had experience with the Little Tarheel II? If I do go the route I mentioned in my other post, I would run this (or similar) antenna mounted on the bracket on the back of my cab. Thoughts kindly….

What frequency are you planning on using the SWR meter. You may be hard pressed to find one that covers HF & VHF/UHF. A MFJ 259B analyzer would be a good choice, but not cheap... JMO...

Just carry an extra stinger cut for 10M. I have two stingers that are marked with a paint pen (marked at best SWR point). Just swap out stinger, adjust to where your mark is, tighten, and your on your way!! Or, you could buy a screwdriver antenna. But, I believe you would need to run a...
