Well got FT107m working there were a couple of bad disc capacitors broken on bottom and after i made a correct 12v plug to supply unit all started working better. Radio still will not do over 45 watts output on AM or SSB i believe the 2 pill amplifier section not working the relay in that area...
Well Roadsquawker I went to check 110v transformer and there was not one there. The power AC to DC converter was taken out so 110 plug in did nothing. So BJ Radionut you were also right it only powers up on 12v but did at one time have a internal 110v one also. I did power it up by using 12v...
I picked up a Yaesu Ft107m last week and I plugged it in 110v and turned it on nothing comes on or shows any power. I checked fuse OK and power switch it was ok. It looks to be in very good condition. What is the next place to look? Thanks
nomadradio i found the problem and i just cannot believe I missed it right from the start. The amp had a 115v plug and cord on amplifier so i did not check if it was wired that inside. Amp was setup inside for 220v but had a 110v plug. I converted it to 110v and amp works great. Not a bad deal...
Called Icom today and they told me no parts availability on this radio so they do not repair them anymore. Bummer this radio really works great on am but just goes off frequency 3-6 times in a hr on 10 meter USB or LSB. I will use it as is until i can afford to buy a ham radio to replace it...
I picked up a nice SB200 as i hooked everything up including a foot pedal to key amp i found out that it does not key up. I already know of the high voltages in this amp so i am being very careful and am ordering a high voltage probe to plug into my Triplet meter and MM-1 heathkit meter to check...
nomadradio i followed the instructions on going to channel 9 on selector and vfo but cannot get any sound or zero beat . Vfo working good on transmit and receive normally but no pull out and check zero beat on 9.
I picked up a beautiful Tram 201 replaced some tubes and BA board fuse and it works great. Trying to line up Vfo better but when do it I get no zero beat to help. What do I need to look at> I built a freq counter that works so I know where I am at on Vfo but would like channel numbers to line up...
Hmmm I was a Planning Commissioner for about 25 yrs my answer to the people complaining about HOA or deed restrictions is do not live there, no one is forcing you to buy a home there and before you buy all the rules should have been shown to you by real estate agent or lawyer . These rules are...
Woody 202 i have not found any information even on how to change bulbs but took face off and seen more than i wanted to do right now, I just shine a light for right now till i get more information.
I took radio apart and checked all i could check but there was a board not completely seated and pushed it in very little bit. Next thing i did was accidentally dropped radio but i swear it seems to be working way better not drifting as much and now usable. The frequency lights still out but...
Well I just passed the test for my Technician License last week and I bought a Icom 737 and just my luck it does not work right on SSB. When on SSB it will act like frequency is jumping. When I tune everyone in with rit and pbt till they are clear after a few transmits people will go micky mouse...
nomadradio I checked SWR and it was ok. I ended up putting a 33 ohm resistor between relay and keying transistor board and also doubled 2n3904 transistors and so far problem solved.
I have owned 2 or 3 of these amps and this design was used in other type amplifiers as well. 2 to 4 watt dead key is fine for all old tube amplifiers. The Firebird should do close to 400 to 500 watts PEP you probably have a couple weak tubes .
I picked up a Maco 200 and it was a mess underneath someone screwed the keying circuit up and ended up putting a toggle switch to key relay. I replaced the bad components and got it keying but relay chattered constantly. I then put a capacitor across relay it stopped the constant chatter but...
Thank You sp5it i had put it back on shelf but will get it back down and check and compare those voltages. It transmits and receives great on all other channels and It transmits fine on channels 1-13 but will not receive on channels 1-13. Wouldn't a out of alignment affect all channels not just...
