Right now I am running the galaxy Dx 919 in my mobile running off of the k40's edition of the monkey made. Ihave talked 20+ miles away with it with good reports on the radio set up near n far. Running barefooted. At the moment!!
I do however get a kick out of hearing some of the stations (channel 6 on AM) n hearing what some of those guys are sounding like n keep telling myself I hope mine never gets to sounding the way that some not all of them do... its kinda comical because they are actually thinking they sound...
Ok! Thank you everyone for the input. I normally run just AM but have been thinking. Bout getting into the ssb.. is there really that much traffic/conversation on ssb. I have never really dealt with it. Also I have heard about the LESCOM KIT n clarifier mod. Are they worth it?
From what I've read the kl203 is am. and SSB compatible a.m. side about 100 what is this be between 100 150 Watts... how bad is the 979 about driftng after getting warmed up and I'm locking the clarifier is it worth it

Yes I have definately heard some of the scatterboxes on that channel. N sometimes I wonder if any of these guys have ever heard themselves. I know that mine isn't the so called BIG RADIO but I do like for it to sound as good as possible without it being distorted

Ok I've read numerous times that it is better to have your equipment/radio set up at a 1 to 4 ratio.on output to have a clean signal without distortation.. I have seen where there can be a higher ratio n still sound real good (not on a meter). So if a 1 to 8/10 ration be loud n sound good to...
I have a 3/12 galaxy Dx919 showing 8 Watt deadkey, modulates through the talkback, Michael gain still adjustable on front but shows NO AUDIO OUTPUT on internal or external meter. N can NOT hear it on a receiving radio.. any ideas?? Thanks for any help or suggestions:angry:
