Another old topic but, my Dad had a 3 element Gizmotchy with the vertical and flat side and it talked great! He was making contacts everywhere! He loved it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Another old post but, I have a brand new Sigma 5/8 silver rod with the 3 small radials still in the box. All I've done is open it and look at it and right back in the box it went. When I bought it I believe I paid about $78 dollars for it. That was 3 yrs ago or so. Where I live I'm not allowed...

Another old post but, sorry, mine does. A Breedlove mount with a very old heavy duty barrel spring and a quick release then the 102 on top. 1.1 on channel 1 and 1.2 on 40. If I remove the quick release, then it's exactly the opposite. 1.2 on 1 and 1.1 on 40.

These old threads are interesting. My Dad had a Gizmotchy beam back in the day. In the late 70's I believe. It had the vertical and horizontal side and If I remember right, was a 3 element beam. It worked great because he talked everywhere on it. Skipland wasn't a problem.

I ran a ground strap from the alternator bracket bolt to my negative battery post and it took away most of the "whining", from the alternator and lowered the engine noise overall quite a bit. Not completely but, calmed it down a lot.
