I actually had a couple of contacts from North Louisiana to Georgia and Florida yesterday morning. Those conditions dropped out fast though. It is extremely quiet back home in South Texas today.

About three years ago I wanted a second vehicle just in case my 2004 Ram needed shop time. I got a 2011 Volvo xc60 t6. I like the car pretty well. It's AWD and has a turbo 6 cylinder. For a grocery getter it will get and go. Good luck car shopping.

I like the 75 corvette style for sure. However I do find the new c8 to be sharp. It is way out of my price range. I hope to get my old 64 chevy ii back on the road. Again. I had it going but ran into rear axle problems.

As a CB'er I do like to listen to the guys on 40 and 80 meters. It is kinda nice just to sit back and listen. It reminds me of the old guys sitting around the table at the cafe or store drinking coffee and telling tales. Some of the talk is very interesting.

There are quite a few good AM operators just below cb channel 1. I don't hear all the vfo wind up, echo and all the guys with huge amps trying to walk on each other. 26.915 is pretty good to me. If you are limited to just cb channels on AM, you might try a couple of channels below and above...

Superior CB in Ontario, CA has revived my Magnum S45 a couple of times. He isn't too expensive either.

New York state was rolling strong down here also. I had a great contact with 16 Dave. Traveling home in my pickup alternating between cranking up some tunes and mostly scanning the frequencies.
