My tri band comet 333 gets me better 2m signal than my old Cushcraft with the ring. The comet is 5/8 or something the Cushcraft wasn't. With a multi band you have 440 or 220 too, if you want, and you can have the option of dual cross band repeat on 440. Just something to consider.

The frequency can be adjusted via the tech menus. I used a RTL SDR on my pc, and adjusted the menu until it was deadnutz. I made a previous post about it. It's different and takes some study before diving into it.

I trimmed mine. I cut way less than I estimated based on the info in the manual, and it changed the resonant frequency way more than one would think based on the manual. Just sharing.

Looks it may be 1=open 2=amateur bands only

1. Hold right "SCN" button during power-up and it will factory reset. 2. Hold "TV/SQL" or "SET" (forget which) during power-up will cause display to say MODE : 1 or 2. I suspect this is amateur/professional mode. (Think it should be 1 for hams.)

Does that RTL-SDR require the hardware control panel (the one with the gain in it) mode box changed to go below 28 or so Mhz ?? I use SDRsharp (SDR#) and prefer the older version of the software.
