Playing w/ it today some cover off. The auto-cool down when nozzle placed into cradle is nice (case mounted and free-standing). I measured temps on the heatsinks on pcb and will add a small 5020 cooling fan to be safe. Quieter than I thought it would be.
IDK it's all new to me. The Co-Pilot reply was surprising and yesterday I forgot to post it. Attached below. The C-Pilot reply about component selection was impressive.
Thank you, Brandon on the SMT version diode availability point. I'm still learning and acquiring what I need to do SMT...
I’m preparing to attempt a repair on an Alinco DX-70T that needs SMT diodes replaced on the Band Pass Filter boards. There are 5 boards, one for each HF band and each board has a few SMT diodes on it. Over the past several months, I’ve been gathering Hot Air & De-Soldering equip. This is all...
That makes sense thank you for explaining it to me. I couldn’t see them wasting valuable finals in production. Do you know if the PO is adjustable using front panel controls on the 10w version?
I was outbid last week on a Kenwood 680v 10w version. I want an older low power HF rig I can pair with my low drive amp. I would replace all the parts that need it. Practice desoldering, lol. I do not want an SDR, maybe someday for Receive. I noted the US version of the Kenwood (100w) ran a...
I was surprised at how complete the response was. No ads or product placement whatsoever, and the calculations I never asked for. The reply even had some personality….which prompted me to wonder How was that even possible, was there a Ham who programmed those remarks about my tube choice years...
I'm impressed at the information Co-Pilot replied with 6 pages, in seconds. I'd never used Pilot for radio stuff. I began with an HVPS query because the online Calculators had too many adds. Amp design by Pilot?, IDK what's next?

I wondered that too and I look forward to a good Answer. You're writing about the Striker radio, right? The mod adds 2 controls to the radio, I saw several YT vids on it. Seemed like a standard mod the shop does.
I needed a awhile to recognize the liability concern.
Actually doing it, drove that concern home.
I will relate my personal experience.
My new 100ah Lifepo4 came with a 40% charge. It sucked a steady 20A from my Pyramid 35A power supply (recently re-capped) for a few hours until the...
Thanks for the warning and thanks for saying it straight.
My first Lifepo4 experience so I'm going slow.
I already fused my psu-batt wire. From the charts 20ah is adequate but I will maintain a constant 'eye on it all' w/ temp gun in hand.
I'm a newbie to Lifepo4 & got a 100ah.
I've read mention about using a regulated power supply with current limiting to charge but there never any details.
Maybe I'm over-thinking it.
If possible, I'd like to user my Astron VLS-35 for charging.
is it really as simple as setting the voltage...
I apologize for making 2 threads about the same issue. This is the same 2x 4cx300a amp w/ Tetrode boards I been tooling around with for awhile.
Brondon 7861 suggested decreasing the Termination resistance and I'll try that next if the 6A10 diode doesn't survive. Nomad HVPS board surviving the...
A while ago, I lost plate current and found it was the single 5408 diode from B- to ground ("D-2", bypassed w/ low voltage .01 ceramic). The diode went open/No Connection.
I replaced the single 5408 with two in series (same batch) bypassed w/ 2x .005 Z5U ceramics). I got zsac back but...
