Anyone used this model interference locator? First I will say I’ve went thru all the hoops, shut off all breakers and the noise is still at 9 S units. Tried everything and narrowed it down to power line noise. I can hear it on my mobile as well. I’ve watched videos on this and seemed legit so I...
Question guys. Please excuse my ignorance on this one. But what is the main difference between these 2? Obviously the Flat 6 has the reflector wire. But can someone explain to me what difference is performance wise?
Also, the flat 6, could I put a ground plane on top of that?
Going to revive this thread with a question. More I read of these hubs, more question I have. As stated above, all of my hubs are still in good condition. It’s crossed my mind to sell this and get the Maco version or something very similar. Reason being is this upgraded construction the Macos...
I have been looking at max gain systems. They make fiberglass rods hollow and solid of all sizes. I believe I could use that for mounting the antenna? Or maybe a ground plane with no bottom radials would pair better(Antron or imax)? Hmmmm… I do have a imax laying out there I supposed I could...
I originally wanted to stack my Maco v58 above this moonraker. But a fella that is obviously radio smarter than me said not a good idea with the vertical elements. I was also told I shouldn’t need a ground plane above it since it’s pretty wide ranged? I still like the idea of my ground stacked...
Hello all. I have a moonraker 6 that I am considering selling. It is already on the ground. It is still partially put together. ALL of the hubs are still good… repeat… ALL hubs are good. Did not take the elements off to prevent possibly busting one of the hubs. It is in REALLY good shape. No...
Hello guys and gals. I am wanting to stack my Maco v58 above my moonraker 6. Always heard of stacking above horizontal but never heard of doing so above vertical. How can I achieve this or is it even possible performance wise? I thought about getting a 1-1/2” fiberglass rod from max gain systems...
Hey guys. Update of where I am in my restore process. Going with Maco gammas and hardware. I have 3 more questions.
Question 1: The original fiberglass guy cables on the antenna are completely shot and no good. I have done some research and for replacement, I think I am going to use...
Thanks for the reply. Do you know of anywhere that makes a current production gamma that will work on the MR6? Or will I have to search the web until I find one from years ago? Thanks.
Hello all. Been a long time since I’ve been on. I recently came across a Moonraker 6 that’s been sitting in a garage for many years not being used. Great shape the guy says and everything is there. I have 2 questions as I’m unable to dig up any information.
1. What wattage capabilities does...
I’m wanting a 1x4 mobile amplifier. Both seem to be solid amp builders. Both are the same price. Hopper has a few day build time where Carl built is 3 weeks behind. Any input guys on experience with them...thanks a ton!!
That’s what I’m thinking too. I know 60’ without wires is not good at all but I was just saying that’s what I want and it’s not gonna be possible based on how much room I have (I think)
I’ve heard mixed things about 50 ft and no wires. Some say yes and some say no way
Been around CB’s for a long while now but first timer on the tower stuff! As I’ve always had push up poles and decided I want to go higher with my antenna. I have several question here.
#1: how deep in the ground in concrete does the base need to be?
#2: how high can I go without guy wires...
I brought in my Galaxy 99 from my mobile and hooked it up. I would say the 99 receives 25% better than the Galaxy 2517 I primarily run. I found some locals on base stations talking way off that were right at the noise level. I compared the radios between the 2 on the same antenna, the 2517’s...
