Hi Folks,
I put up my Imax 2000 about two years ago.
The SWR form the beginning has been extremely low that the needle would barely move at all. This past couple of days I have noticed the SWR has risen to 1.5 to 1. I have also noticed that it is not stable as if I keep the mic keyed it...
I just purchased a pristine TRC449 mobile radio. It TX great but when you unkey the mic, the receive slowly fades out until you can not receive. Transmit again and the receive will return for a couple of seconds and then slowly fade out again.
Any ideas as to where the problem may lay...
Excellent radio. Great looking and performs just as well. Out of the box it is one of the best sounding radios out there but with a proper allignment and tweaking it screams. I wouldn't part with the one i Have.

Take the back off the radio and look at the control board for the counter. There is a crystal on this board that is usually bent flat against the circut board. This crystal has to be insulated from the haet of the board so what I did was straighten out the crystal and wrap it with a small piece...

Hi Folks,
I recently aquired a TRC457 in great condition but not in working order.
The old man I got it from bought it new in 1978 and used it up to 8 years ago when it just would not come on one day and he stored it under his bed.
The radio had never had the back off it so I know where...
To test the element, connect both element leads to a Digital Volt Ohm Meter set on the lowest AC Voltage setting. Then whistle into the element. If the element is working properly, you will see the meter regestering a small voltage.
I am looking for an key bar for an older Turner +2 desk mike. This key bar has SSB +2 Transistirized engraved into it. Anyone have one in their junk box to sell?

I was planning to buy a 11 meter base radio. I am seriously considering the Galaxy 2547. I then realized I am planning on getting my amature licence. Now the delema. I don't want to pump money into the Galaxy only to have to replace it down the road. Is there a resonably priced base radio...

Hi,
I have a old TRC48 with a C1017 driver and C1307 final. I can't get the DK past two watts. I have tried replacing both the driver and final and also tweaked the L305 coil but still no go.
Anyone know of a replacement driver or final that will allow me to increase the output of this...
I have a vintage TRC48 that just quit working. When powered on, the channel light illuminates but the meter light does not. It has no recieve nor transmit (Meter or Speaker) but the relay works when the mic is keyed. The PA also is not working. Any ideas as to where to start checking???
I have...
I am working on an old Simba 23 channel base SSB radio. The previous owner fried the power supply in it. My question is, why is there a C1096 transistor in the supply area? I know this paticular transistor is used extensively for audio applications but are they used for regulation or some...
