Consider a SS 102' (Radio Shack), with a HD SS spring (Firestik), and a HD mount. Attached to a pole slightly above roof line. It will work local and DX.
I have an A99 and a couple of dipoles. The SWR on my A99 is flat on 10 and 11 meters, but 12, 15 and 17 are 4's and 5's. This is using the internal meter and an external meter measured on AM, not SSB.
Thanks for the reviews. My questions. Can you listen on both channels at the same time? Next, if you are talking on channel A, can you still hear channel B?
Thank you.

Hope this helps...
Ham and Cheese
This blog was recently posted by Patrice Lewis and Chris Martenson. Might want to check it out! This site talks about making cheese, bread, butter and entry level radio communications.

I ran across a blog where the YL talks about making cheese and the OM talks about basic radio communications. Thought some of you folks might find this to be an interesting blog.

We have a small farm and use MURS on our commercial HT's. My YL and I both have our general licenses. Less people listening on MURS. Channels 1-2-3 have no commercial traffic. Channels 4-5 are old business channels that have been grandfathered-in.

I use the Comet M-24 and it works fine. I do avoid Murs channels 4 & 5, these are old business channels, lots of places still use them. I also use a Wouxun HT with a battery eliminator, a heavy duty hand mic, and an antenna adapter. Use a little Velcro and you have a nice...

I had a question about a radio connection. Here is my question.

Update-2970N2
Thank you for the replies. The low pass filter did lower the SWR sharply, but not enough. The radio is in the mail to Ranger for an evaluation.

I recently purchased a new RCI-2970N2 and I cannot get the SWR down, 3.5:1, to an acceptable level. The radio was bought from Bells CB Radio. The technician at Bells has recommended a Low Pass Filter. My set-up is as follows: a new A-99 antenna 8' above my house, 27' of Belden RG8X cable, a new...
