Hello my friends, im reviving a Utica TandC 111. the 40uf 450 vdc, capacitor, i'm pointing to in the picture, and the 2/ 10uf resisters also pointed to in the photos. are connected to the red 2 wires from the transformer. when i tried to bring it up slowly on the variac. but they started...
Hello, Im trying to wire this Turner +350 mic to my General mc-6. I have The original mic so i took it apart and made a picture, of both of them to compare. The one on the right is the +350 mic. I wired it the way the turner +350 manual shows, to wire for electronic switching but that did not...

Hello, I purchased a courier 1 changed the capacitors, and some resistors. luckily i found a mic that works. it transmittes, receives, hears great, everything works . but the Modulator tube 6bq5 is overheating. i traced to the rc-70 a 4 lead component between the 12bay7 and the 6bq5. the voltage...
Hello, I purchased a general radiotelephone mc5. Unfortunately, it does not have a power cord. I was wondering if anyone has one for sale. Im also looking at the schematic. Trying to figure out if there is a way to rig, or make a power cord. Thanks
Hello, I recently i replaced the can capacitors the black diodes, and a couple of big resistors. on the demon 250. It worked great for about a month. Then it started to surge, and dim the lights in the room. then it stopped putting out full power. it only puts out about 70watts am down from...
I read that some of the d201 second version was assembled in the USA.One of my tram d201 has a silver front logo. it does not have assembled in mexico on the back but the tram with the black logo does. Hmm
When i key on ssb the meter will spike and then flutter before the meter settles on zero. it appears to transmit fine after the spike and flutter. With the watt meter hooked up the output also spikes beyond 12 watts and then returns to zero when i key up. I have swapped out the v401 and v602...
I noticed the swing on ch 1 is about 2 watts with a dead key of 4 watts the swing and dead key slowly increases with each channel. on channel 20 it is 6 watts dead key and a 6 watt swing. I checked the modulation it is about 75% on channel 1 and over %100 on channel 20
I have no receive on am, in crystal, or manual the ssb has a little bit of gain in xtal ,and manual mode. transmit seems okay. I have swapped out r319, and r320, twice. Both times they did not reducing the voltage to pin 6. I am really confused.
Im looking at the varmint xl600 relay but i cannot read the info on the relay does anyone know the relay part number and description for the xl600 relay. Thanks
My demon 250, unkeys too soon on ssb with the ssb delay on. I replaced all but one of the blue can capacitors. It should be here by friday. Im wondering where is the ssb delay capacitor, and what should i change the value to. so i can increase the delay. Thanks.
I noticed on ssb receive that i am getting what sounds like feedback i can hear myself tapping on the receive board and the bal mod. board it is the loudest when i tap v502, and t502. I have replaced the r520 recently when the ssb receive quit and got it running again. I swapped out tubes, no...
I know the tram D201 is not the best ssb radio, but i like the radio and im hard headed so I jumped the small power resistor.to see if that helped ssb it increased am but the ssb was the same about 10watts swing lsb. I would like to get about a 15-20watt swing.
Im trying to track down the low output problem on am/lsb I noticed the c711 was set so it looked like a circle instead of a slice of pie like the other radios from the inside. i checked c711 and from L700 to the 3 pin on the final tube i get 3.7 ohms. The other tram measured 37.6ohms. from L700...
i connected a siltronix 90-3 vfo. to Tram #1 i removed the ch23 crystal, and soldered the center of the cable to the bottom (power side) of the channel 23 socket and grounded it away from the socket.Going through the vfo on ch23 I tuned c711 and c712. On am it is getting 1 1/2 watts and a...
I checked d702 and d703 i replaced d703 because it made a steady peep when it was in the circuit, but when i removed it the old diode tested okay. the new diode did not get the r719 adjustment working again.
I began to check tube voltages when i touched v302 pin 2 the am receive came back to crystal and manual mode. then i traced the static down to C311 there was no static on the other side of it. C312 has static on the other side. and R308 had no static on the other side of it. it measured 99k ohm...
I have just purchased a refurbished Tram D201. I decided to attached a siltronix vfo by removing the 16.5585 crystal i Did the modification right but when was putting it back together i got a phone call That distracted me. well when i transmitted i realized i had not plugged the internal cables...
