Technically, not CB related...and may even get me thrown out of here!!!!!

This sounds like a question where you already know the answer and blowing your trumpet (prematurely) at the same time. Not sure what your end game is.

Astatic Mic Battery wire connection issue.

How about a reply. Or did you put the drill through your head?

    lincoln II + question

I have an elastic band, when I stretch it too far it breaks. I have gone through several elastic bands now, and I don't understand what the problem is, why my elastic bands don't perform to my specifications. Is there something I can do to modify the limits of the elastic band, regardless of...

Having some SWR trouble with the MFJ 1890 10 meter moxon

Mate, never rely on a Nano VNA, especially if you don't re-calibrate them regularly. I would have gone straight to a trusted SWR meter, even an onboard one,to save the wild goose chase. Trust me, I've been there before.

The Myth Surrounding Antenna Take Off Angles

Yes, too high can have a detrimental affect.

    Courier ML100 Mobile Linear Amplifier(Tube)?

I know this is a rather old post, and I don't even know if you're still alive. However, I feel the need to respond. I thought the other guy's reply was very thorough and concise, and made it easy to fully understand what's happening... as opposed to your lazy and inaccurate explanation. By the...

Which APP sorry? Do you mean the Moxgen ZIP file?

    Icom IC-7300 Phantom Power??

Can somebody please confirm for me whether the 7300 has phantom power for the stock mic? I've done some research, however some people confuse the terminology, and I don't have a radio in front of me to test for myself. I understand there is an 8V source on pin 2, so my question is does pin1...

What does Exnec say about a couple of Moxon Calculators?

I have fallen victim to some of these calculators. However, the first one I used worked out near perfect. The main reason as to why I built it was to reject bad street light/power line noise coming up the rear when I would point to Europe. I had taken down my 4 element LFA for whatever reason...

    Starduster - Watt rating?

I know this is old, and I hope you're still with us. The quarter wave ground plane will have better ground efficiency for one.

SSB drift on a vintage Golden Eagle Mark III

Yes, I am saying more and more these days 'less is more'. Mine does 10W PEP, which is apparently healthy for these. I know there are two versions of the MKIII, my one is the first, I think they have a reputation for being better on sideband. And I don't know what modifications have been done to...

    Browning eagle mark 3

Thanks fellas. I already ordered the receiver kit. I worry about how difficult it may be to tune, the sensitivity. I am also going to order an Arduino type VFO for the transmitter. Both of these out of the US of course. I'm helping with your economy, we're doing alright down here.

    SBE Console V no modulation

One of the best sounding CB radios you can get when working. Excellent receive too. I don't believe it's a cold solder joint problem so to speak. It is a contamination/reaction problem. Primarily with the through pins.

SSB drift on a vintage Golden Eagle Mark III

Again, I know this is old, but I fired up a MKIII the other day, and the transmitter is rock solid on frequency. I just spoke on it for 4 hrs, no drift whatsoever. Stations were commenting on how it did not drift without me mentioning it once. I have done nothing to this radio. On top of that...

    SBE Console V no modulation

Sorry for this incredibly late reply, let's just say I've been offline lately (that doesn't mean I have been in jail). I do have one, and I need to get it back on the bench one day as it failed again. I recently bought a Liner Console V, this is the quite rare Australian 18ch version. It has no...

    Browning eagle mark 3

I know this is a very old post, but what was the kit in the end? How was the expansion done and was your radio the early or later version of the MKIII? The early version has a switch on the receiver that reads MAN-XTAL1-XTAL2. I am trying to expand mine and it is rather frustrating when a thread...

    SBE Console V no modulation

I know this is an old post, but SBEs suffer from a through pin solder joint problem. I have experienced no modulation several times, and it was to do with the supply to the audio IC, and another key component... can't remember. These types of faults will tend to show up more in high current...

    Shack Grounding

My understanding, the main thing is to avoid a quarter wavelength, or multiples thereof, with the ground wire at any of those operating frequencies.
