I was heart broken. I was shipped a new boom section as a replacement but took her down and put her into storage. That was back in the 80's.

Thanks Ralph ! 75 , Not a Big Fan of noise toys but must say that one is different & I enjoyed it ! That's what singled him out to me . At first I thought I was picking up a radar sweep !

Is there anyway to block-out channel 6 on a radio so as I don't have to listen to those guys break through the squelch when I activate the scan feature?

Not that I am aware of but I just spin the dial & skip right over them since I have nothing I need to say to anyone there & I have nothing I need to hear from anyone there.If I want to speak with or hear a child on the radio I will speak with my Grandson on FRS & at least he will make some sense & just talk not make unneeded & unwanted noises & not be screaming & talking to himself.He is being raised properly & knows that a Transceiver is for Communications & NOT playing childish games.He is more grown up than 99.9% of those & he is only 9 years young.

Good going. Tractor Man is a local guy I talk to on the radio at times...never have met him. Seems like a nice guy and a gentleman on the radio.. Lives 40 miles away from me on other side of the River in Rockwell NC.

Conditions are crazy here ! I don't get it . I usually spend my time on SSB some place , but 38 is dead or very weak on my end & Am is booming in ! That's the reason Iv'e been talking on Am .

Was booming in here last night. Heard my neighbor, 286, doing well on 38lsb so I just listened. Nothing international for several days. All the TEP to the south has dried up for the time being.

Was booming here in central NC as well. It was like a pipeline from here to Wisconsin and back. Made contacts on 38lsb and moved up or down from there. Kept it all between 36 & 40. Great QSO’s
