Talking to Queensland Victoria ATM.
my q6 gave false readings and would shut itself off. i went inside n i shut vswr meter off used my big meter and vswr was decent. bet your rm italy is ok.Was a miserable day today, not cold or warm but threat of rain so didn't feel like getting anything started. Worked my way into the radio room to experiment. Found out it seems like my 2ea Q6 Pros have the best receive even better than my Cobra 2000 because they were the only ones pulling out voices. ( At least in the beginning ) I did make 1 contact in South Texas but the radios weren't hopping by no means. After experimenting with my Q6 Pro I get the feeling I'm not impressed with my KL-503 P amp as I hoped to be because it drives up the SWR on the internal meter of the radio. I took the same radio down stairs to my little kitchen antenna and put it on my KL-300 P and the SWR stays great. Might be too early to tell but the next step is take it out to my car to see how it mates up with my KL-203 P. And then to my Expedition to see how it mates up with my KL- 200 P. I'm sure I'll get a education anyway.
Happy DXing

Thanks for the heads up. I've made contacts with the KL-503 P and no complaints except 1 person said I might be over-driving the amp. I tried to shut off the wswr in the menu but didn't have luck, but I will try again. I haven't updated the firmware yet either because too many projects going on and want to wait until I have time and a Clear head so I don't mess it up. I just happened to catch a little snippet of your qso. I heard you say 226 and JJ and that's about it. There were so many stations coming in from UK, it was a hornets nest for sure. Hoping to catch you both sometime this weekend, we will keep trying. Thanks for the qso, my friend.
I set there and listened to you making those contacts, one right after the other, boom boom boom. Everyone wanted to qso with 399 JJ. Brother, you were getting out like no other station I heard. And choice as usual.

Nice!!WR291 Paul 100miles west of Brisbane is currently on 37L
Don't feel alone on conditions. I had to run to the recycle center today and decided to change out my Uniden PC 122 for my Q6 Pro because the Uniden seem to suffer riding in my Expedition all winter. Well took the time to change it out and was excited about trying it out. Well the whole trip had no ssb signal ( disappointing ) ! I did manage to get a 19 AM radio check but that wasn't much of a turn on. Hoping for better days ! LOLNo conditions right now on the mid Atlantic Coast. Standing by, hopefully it will improve as the sun starts to set.
