11 meter is very quiet?

I haven't heard a peep out of 35 USB all day yet ! PS Went for a ride in the car & heard nothing even on the hill top. OH WELL

I was out on the boat with my marine mobile set up - a Glomex marine CB antenna and a Cherokee AH-100 SSB walkie talkie.

For the second day in a row, Brasil (Portuguese spelling) was coming in on several frequencies. Lots of USB 40 and USB 38 traffic from there.

I heard someone speaking Spanish with a real strange accent. It turned out to be "Needle Bender 351" in Australia. It was my Monday afternoon, but it was Tuesday morning for him. Hearing him for as long as I did was quite a surprise.

The arcs from South Florida, my area to Brasil are over 4000 miles. The arcs to Australia are a little over double that. I think we see a pattern of longer arc skip these last few days.

Sometimes you have to laugh ! The solar site said Fair for today like yesterday and both day was worthless. But I've seen days it said poor and they actually pretty active. I'm learning to take it all with a grain of salt. I didn't hear Squat today. LOL

The dx has been active late in the evening here in south Texas. Friday i made contacts to many parts of the northeast, Midwest and southeast plus Hawaii and Australia. Saturday it was short dx to Alabama, Oklahoma and Louisiana. I even talked to Dallas. Yesterday it was not very active.
Same here with the Hawaii and Australia. For the past several months they've been coming in around 8:00 PM most days like clock work. Not too much from North America here...

Patiently waiting for late fall....

It's been very slim pickings up this way. Most days nothing happening on the radio at all until late afternoon when we may or may not get a bit of short skip towards the southwest states. Hawaii still makes it here reliably almost every afternoon and evening, but the usually loud Australians are just a whisper in the static. Only thing I've heard from the east all week was a Nova Scotia station on Thursday afternoon. Not a peep from anywhere in the states east of the Rockies.

I'll have a very rare occasional burp of dx late evenings but nothing workable for weeks now.

I've pretty much shut down all dx operations until the fall.

Sometime late August early September I'll do some inspections and maintenance to the antenna system to be ready for when it starts coming back around in late September (usually).

Until then, I'm busy with work and other outdoor activities.

Yesterday I turned on the DX2547 and could only hear activity on 40 lsb and that was basically 1 guy speaking. But that surprised me because usually for me 40 lsb is dead for me. Briefly turned on the mobile in my travel and nothing. 8:45 this morning and 38 lsb is sounding off.
