I have been looking at buying a new/bigger amp but other than rm Italy and copper electronics where can I buy a new one from? I’m looking for somewhere around 500 Watts and must have SSB. I tried to look at Xforce but no amps come up? I liked the midnight special line but like I said it seems to be gone.

I used to recommend xforce but after seeing some shady stuff come from them and so many complaints of him not returning calls I would pass. It's hard to recommend a builder anymore.

Is this for a mobile or base and what kind of radio are you using? For a base you have some decent hambone amp options.

XForce may or may-not be around anymore. Builder (and from what I hear) him and a family member has had some serious health issues to deal with this year, and he was swamped with orders, allot of which still have not been taken care of, which is why he took down all the Amp info...

I was going to buy another XForce before this all went down, so decided to check out a builder a friend of mine suggested on fb..."Hopper Built Amp's"...

I bought a 1x2 from him and couldn't be more pleased...Very clean built box, and not over-priced, plus turn-around time was less than a month...(in my case just about a week, but pending on orders that may vary)

worth checking out if your in the market for something to use with CB...

Search on fb for "Hopper Built Amps"...

Is this for the 980? I have become a big fan of the texas star 500 behind a cb. They just lope along and there is no risk of hurting it with legal power. Even DEIs will last forever.

Sorry .... yes it’s for my 980ssb and it’s currently set at 1 1/2 watt DK swing to 9 Watts. I was looking at TS but not sure. Is the 667v better than the 500? I’ve heard it’s a better amp per reviews. The radio could be put back to stock which was 4 Watts DK swing to about 12 Watts! Look out it’s a powerhouse!

667 has a driver stage, and would work just fine with the 980, but I would suggest having your dk backed off to about 2w's...The TS 500 however will give you about the same results as the 667 and you wouldn't have to do anything to the radio...plus, the 500 will save you some money over the 667.

The 667 can be a cranky beast to run. The 500 will give you more radio options that will work with it. For your 980 even a TS350 or 250 would work well.
