Anytone AT-5555N II (version 2). AM modulation swing and or SSB safe power output adjustment

I'm having difficulty with this radio trying to do a hard reset. The manual instructions don't seem to work...tried both OPT and ALL and it seems to have no effect on the radio. This one is the QT60 version, which shouldn't change anything, but who knows. Thanks in advance.

The radio plays fine and all settings in the service menu seem close to the list that's on this thread. But regular menu settings just never go back to default. A real head scratcher.

No. It says right at the top of the chart....
Anytone AT-5555N Original Service Menu Settings (First Radio V2)

So it is for the 5555N, which is an entirely different radio than the 5555N2.

There is zero need to go into the service menu on these radios.
There are parameters that can only be adjusted with the right service tools. If you change the parameter and don't have a freq generator for example, you CANNOT change it back to how it was !
I have the 5555N2 and it works 100% OK right out of the box. There is no need to adjust anything that can't already be adjusted in the regular menu.
Real Ham Operators love to experiment, not just key a mic and chat (appliance operators). We love to get our hands dirty, burn ourselves soldering and deeply inhale those whisps of solder smoke as we create or repaire ham gear.

as i posted a bit back and captain killowatt agreed,if ya gonna screw with menu settings first and i MEAN FIRST THING COPY EVERY VALUE AND ITS MEANING .if you screw up dont ask us but reset the values because NO 2 RADIOS USE SAME VALUES even 1 build number apart. extra work but easy to do from the getgo
From what I have read, the AnyTone 5555Plus (new version) and the Retevis HS4 are manufactured from the same "cookie cutter" and at the same bakery. The default value numbers in my new version AnyTone 5555Plus and my friend's Retevis HS4 are not exactly the same, but very close. AM Low and High Power numbers are within two to three value number differences. The most significant number difference is in Menu # 19, AM modulation. 5555Plus has a default value number of 217 and the value number in the HS4 is 160. We experimented with both value numbers and there was no noticeable difference between 217 and 160.

I will say no radio should be "brickable" adjusting anything through the menu or data cable.

I own a Radioddity 60 Pro so much the same radio. Nothing should be brickable operating through the menu not even the engineering menu. This is just a sign of poor design. This is normal for China.

You should have to bypass layers of security and such to brick it at min. anything less and it should be impossible. So as an exaple adjusting the setting on your phone does not even come close to bricking your cell phone but if you try to jail break it or root it then maybe you might brick it etc!!!!!

I am 52 and I think that even a firmware update gone bad should not brick a glorified CB radio.

Boa sorte.

Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
