Gooserider amp

Very possible for a very short time.... 18+VDC, hitting it with about 50 watts, driving it into meltdown.....A 1X4 is usually good for @400 at normal drive and volts though.

@20 volts
Key.
Scream Worldwide for ten seconds.
Un key, and roll down windows to let smoke out.
Replace transistors.
Repeat.
They should just clamp the 2 hg's in so you don't have to waste time taking out the screws after each key.
Some guy will buy this for a daily driver amp In his Toyota and moan that it won't do the wztts.

I found this way too funny.....and accurate.:LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

500W from 2x2879? God bless America!

I might have used a different word between "God" and "America". :whistle::ROFLMAO:

Change America to Canada while you're at it.

Yeah that went sideways. My thinking was "God damn America. 500 watts from a pair of 2879s WTF?!" It was counter to Mikes post not to simply put down the country. I can see how that could have been taken wrong. Sometimes thoughts are not conveyed well.

Gooserider is one of the oldest builders that exist. He used to build under Twister. His reputation is legendary. No one knows him cause he doesn't advertise or do social media. The guy selling those in Irving buys them and trys to flip them selling them at a higher cost.
The builder doesn't claim they do those type of watts. The seller of those amps is very uneducated and certainly the seller is not the builder. Fred is the builder of Gooserider and is no beginner. Fred's one of the oldest Amp builders that exist. He came before the Motorola handbook where bbi started. Fred builds new 4 pills with 2879 HGs for 450 dollars his 8 pills are 1k and 16 pill boxes are 2k. Fred doesn't really build transistor boxes. He just refers people to buy a donkey stomper. He mainly builds tube amps that range from 10k watts to 80k watts.
He works on real broadcasting amps btw. Fred's got more power than motor mouth mall to be honest. He only builds Gooserider boxes for most of the locals in the area if someone's in need. The CB shop in Irving at one time wanted to get a order of those amps in for his shop but
He stopped buying because the profit is very little and the turn around time was too slow. People only can get twister or gooserider from word of mouth these days. Fred don't need the money or business in amps. That's more like a side hobby for Fred. He's very wealthy I hear.
His boxes arnt like Danny 123 or bbi. His boxes are rather simple design and are very cheap. He doesn't make any profit selling his boxes. His turn around time to repair is 2-6 weeks that's during fall and winter. He closes his shop during spring and summer.

The seller of those boxes his name is icke from Irving. The builder is not the seller to be clear.
The builders name is Fred. That seller who's very un educated...his name is icke.
The guy who does freds copper board 3d printing his name is Steve manley. They live just a few miles away from each other south of fort Worth. Sometimes Fred builds without 3d printing and he will grind down the board by hand. Fred doesn't like the Lick em stick ems
That most builders use these days. Fred's builds consists of same combiner colors and typical power Trace using a single 12 gauge wire inside.
And ground is always soldered similar to power being soldered to board. He does repair all other builders boxes without changing peoples designs unless he sees something as a potential risk or failure. One thing I can say about his builds is they don't work good with capacitance
And freds builds tend to work better with higher dead key than dead key and his boxes tend to have better lower SRW wise with higher dead key. Donkey stomper used to be a dealer for Fred back in the 90s and so did Rooster in Tennessee. Carl built, Dave's made boxes also originated under Fred. The guy bbi learned from learned from mike kilgore from fort Worth TX.
Mark sherman from fine tune CB also learned from mike kilgore. Fred learned from mike back in the 80s. Fred doesn't get caught up in Facebook. He doesn't have a fb account and he doesn't watch YouTube. Fred doesn't have a clue who bbi is or any of these mainstream builders.
Fred is a old 80 year old cowboy from Texas who lives on a ranch without internet. He uses a flip phone still and takes care of the cows and his crops. He does have a machine shop and a outdoors shop that has boxes people drop off or mail in for repair. Fred is very humble guy and he doesn't pay no attention to CB radio hobby. He just watches ball game and smokes cigars and works around the ranch. Back in the 80-90s Fred used to work on allot of the guys boxes on ch 6.
Fred doesn't give his number to anyone. He doesn't care about CB or the business. He has a life outside of CB. He only deals with people word of mouth. Fred is very reasonably priced too.
