Morning all, what’s the easiest way to tone down the highs on a comp 29. I know it would be on the top side of the board but what and were would I solder? Thanks

Sounds like you need more information, lots more.

Solder capacitor between audio input pin and ground. It will cut high tones.
Value is experimental. Choose that one which suit you needs.

C69 by TR18 and TR17 in the middle of the board is the factory cap going to ground on the mic input. It is .01uF (103) stock. As sp5it says value is experimental. Try a .022 and if you want even more attenuation try a .047 or a .1uF.

If you meant on receive, make C134 higher in value.

You can always get a ClearSpkr external speaker. Cuts a lot of those annoying highs.

The modulation transformer in a comp 29 has a lot more DC current going through it than a stock rig. That really limits the amount of bass it can handle. For more bass I would reduce the DC current flowing through the mod iron look into modified Heising.
