How about it?

We have a big snow storm headed to the mid Atlantic this weekend. Predictions for our area 12 to 18+ inches then finishing with rain (ice). Next week won't be above freezing, so it will be a mess.

I happen to have jury duty next week too, lucky me...

Lol my weather app says not to use grills inside. They need to start letting natural selection handle concerns like that.

No thank you, while I prefer to be cold versus hot there is a limit that your neck of the woods has passed. I can't tell a difference between -7 and -36 degrees though, it all hits the same. Our low this weekend is -7, getting prepared for the winter storm coming, gassing the generator, heat lamps under the house and in the goat barn, got a goat going to kid in the next few days and it's dangerous in the negative temps. Probable power outages and impassible roads with about 1/2" ice and up to 12" snow. We ain't built for that in West Tennessee for sure.

I should probably go check our generator too, its been several months since I looked at it. Thankfully we are not expecting any ice here. Hope everything goes well with the goat, definitely too cold for that.

I started my weekend early since my shift is covered today, didn't want to try starting the car at -35 tonight. They are saying -50 wind chills for tomorrow, glad I'm staying home. I bet the Canadians are laughing about us down here crying about this summer weather lol.

I used to wait for the bus in shorts and a tee shirt mid winter, not any more. I agree, -7 is just as bad as -40 to me too.

I thought I would chime in, and brag (as I usually do!)

I ain't trading! with any of you!
I was just walking around outside in a tee-shirt
while drinking a cold beer.

but I just got a cell phone text message from electric
utilities company about the coming
cold air mass, that it may get below freezing for a few days
next week.

I am there with you, I am in the NE Texas Bayou, its going to be in the teens-twenties Friday evening through Tuesday with the low Sunday being 6 degrees as the forecast states right now. I am from Michigan so the cold does not bother me but the area here is not equipped to handle this type of conditions. I am ready here, go the main generator tested and the backup generator tested along with the 20,000-80,000 BTU propane heater fired up and no leaks detected at the fittings/oring connections. The temp controlled heat is also OK in the insulated water pump building. Got all the fuel and propane tanks topped off so it all should be good. My main generator runs on gas or LP so we are good there, the backup is only gas. Both freezers and fridges are full as usual and the pantry is full. We are ready for a typical 30 day+ freeze in like we would experience in Michigan every few years LOL. I hope everyone else does not have any issues and come through this storm OK!!!!!! As usual I will be monitoring 27.375LSB in late morning to late afternoon and also 3.806/3.840/3.900 in the morning and then 7.235 afternoon.

Don't feel alone, we're gunna be treated also. I got gas for the snow blower & quad today & tomorrow I better top off the generator. It's bad enough dealing with large amounts of snow but dealing with freezing rain is enough to make you Swear. And yes I'm not bashful about that ! LOL
