can any one tell me what it cost to get a ham licence .
I know the testing is 14 dollars
I want to test on the 12 of feb

License Cost

14 dollars , and you could/should go ahead and take all three
since it costs no more ,

you will have to pass one before you will be able to take another

be sure you have valid id , and cash
you will be allowed to bring a calculator
(prob wont need it for tech , but could be handy for general and definitely extra )

and blank paper , which will be furnished if you dont
pencils


if you pass the first or all
it will be several weeks before you get your license

meaning you will not be able to transmit on any ham freqs
until it shows up ,

this is typical of all new ham calls

later on when you upgrade , if and when you pass any or all test
you can hit the air immediately with your new privileges

I recently discovered your license upgrade, and new licenses are posted on the FCC site approx 24 hours before it gets picked up by QRZ.

It took 8 days for my paper license to show up, took the General test on Friday, and it showed up in this Saturday's mail.

Now I'm waiting to see how quickly I get the vanity call I applied for.....
