never saw a plug N play channel kit. most of the time you have to align the radio after the kit install.
do you have a link for the kit to see just what it consist of?

you won't get as many sales for the AM only radios as you will for the SSB models.

these days no one uses AM on the uppers, and very few people out there on the lowers.
(at least from what i hear on the west coast)

I think 40 bucks is a good price point and you wont get any less sales than you would if you sold them for 30 bucks.

I can tell you from experience that using the stock switches for the P5 P6 channel mod is a PITA on these radios, so i would imagine that people would be happy to pay 40 dollars for a plug and play solution.

are you planning on including instructions for putting everything back on freq once the radio is modified?

If it comes with good instructions so that someone with soldering skills could do it, then yes I would be interested if I had one of those radios.

A lot of guys wish they had the know-how to mod their radios but don't. I think a channel kit they can install themselves would be a big hit at that price. Voted yes.

I believe that to be true. It is interesting and I hope we get more votes on this because I really do value everyone's input.
