Plug n play channel kit

Do you think a plug-and-play channel kit for $39.95 for Galaxy's will sell?

  • Yes

  • No

It would compete with one of the Lescomm boards since he is the only one that makes one that is as near plug and play as you describe.

And at $40 + shipping it would be a winner being less than half the price for the same functionality.

I say go for it. Innovation is a great thing.

It's just as easy for me to also make or design it so that I can use the board either way. Either with the switches on the front of the radio in the case of the dx-959, or install the rotary switch in the phono Jack in the front of a 2547. A dual-purpose board. But two separate kits.
Now I am sitting here as we speak redesigning this as a dual-purpose board.

Ok send me one of those plug-n-play's and I will install it, make a video of it and if it's really plug-n-play and does what you say I will sell the radio and promote your device on my eBay post which will include a link to your auction site or web URL when you are ready to launch. OK! lets do this!

Well, Galaxy kinda already provides the "switch kit" - at least their 145105 PLL's - the RCI-8719's can do this too - just not sure of the VCO bandwidth it needs.

But I'm presuming - "drop in" on a 979?

With SSB?

Heck YES!

You just have to increase production on your "Starlite" model line - Pronto!

Larry,

When i do a 2547 channel mod (been over a year since i did one) i use the channel 9/19 switch and just eliminate the higher band of channels.

I found most people were happy with the 26.695 to 27.645 range and this allowed me to use that switch.

any chance your board can do something like this?
LC

A board that makes mods so simple even I can do it without reducing the inside of the radio to smoldering slag?

It'll sell.

It will also piss off a few people who make their money selling mods, so expect some incoming.

Hmm. Kinda want to wait and see if they chime in here with their naming of the project...

I can only guess - it's a great idea but not sure of good names that won't cause riots to form in the streets...

First - "Viagra"
Second - "Gone Postal"
Third - "Active Shooter"
Fourth - "WW III"
Fifth - "Sith" (Pun)
Sixth - "Thanos"
Seventh - "Deadpool"

With the switch to the right it will cover from 41 to 60 +. To the left of center gives you channels below 1. Plus it has a 10 KC switch.

Oh, I expect some incoming, but their jabs will be unfounded.

Designed to work in a dx-959. Tonight I start work on one for the DX 979.
