Has anyone done the HiFi/wideband audio caps on a new RCI 29 base yet? If so, where can I get the directions / board locations please Thanks - Bob

Why would anyone use hifi caps in a CB radio, with a maximum of 2.4khz audio bandwidth? As long as the caps are reliable and can handle the voltage it will be perfectly fine. Good caps in the power supply of course.

You could try wwdpx for the goldfinger hifi mods. Not sure of the board in the 29 base but it has to be similar to most any Ranger board out there. You could possibly find one there for reference to yours.

Bypass the filters and it will be wide as a barn door. Both limitations are on the RX and TX side.

I think it's the "EPT we didn't print a schematic" board. Pretty sure I have some pics at work that catch the number. We'll see.

based only on that pic it sure looks similar to the 2950DX boards.

For AM it's simple. I would inject audio from external processor to point marked with red arrow and take out C262

Beware, that you must use at least external limiter to do not overdrive.
I use for that purpose external mic preamp, 12 band EQ and compressor/limiter. Sounds insane.
SSB is different story, without schematic impossible to explain.

It's similar to the x9 or 99 series radios which are really close to the 29xx series.
