Uniden pc122xl no tx or rx

Only thing that comes to mind that it may be the transistor in the back of the radio near the power connector. You can use a TIP42 in place of it. Unsure if that only deals in AM and not the SSB side of things. Even if it doesn't fix it, it is a good idea to replace it from what was there originally.

Gday
This is the transistor i pulled its a toshiba 2sb753 checked it with dvm and its working im guessing it just a bad cap finding it is a different story i was thinking of an esr meter so i can test them all in circuit
Thanks joe

Hi
I have found no voltage at pin 16 of pll and ic5 has 6 volts at pin 6 so i think the ic5 is working im still to track down the missing voltage some other component has failed any ideas
Thanks joe

I did this on a hunch with a simular radio.
Find test point 2 and measure voltage to board ground/ not chassis ground, on channels 1 and 40. Remember the number on 40, while keying slowly turn L13 to its max top and bottom while watching your watt meter for movement. record max and min voltages, or the voltage that lit up the watt meter. sometimes the specified 4.5 0n 40 isnt enough...

Gday
Have found both pin 15/16 of pll has no voltage and channel display is missing segments like theres not enough voltage there to power the display
Thanks joe

The missing segments could be from a dirty channel selector.

You mentioned before that it doesn't seem to switch from PA to radio but you had checked the switch was working with a DMM.

When you switch to PA do you loose your channel readout like your supposed to? and likewise do you get your channel display showing when switched back to radio?

Have you tested PA (and therefore microphone) by plugging in a set of headphones into your PA jack, key up and hear yourself talk? You may need to turn your volume up.

I know you said you have checked the mic but how did you do that? Have you another mic you could try? Have you checked the mic socket wiring in radio is still intact etc.

Gday
I have tried pa with external speaker plugged into jack and nothing,im missing voltage on pin 15/16 pll i dont lose channel display when switching between pa/cb should i ! also missing 5v at base of q32 ,tried different mic no difference still no tx or rx pll wont work without 5v at pin 16 tried swapping the pll thinking it was the problem but problem still exists
Thanks for taking the time to respond
Joe
