Very much so, spent the 80's at four stations here in the Chicago area, got out of it in the mid 90's when I went back to school and got my masters in computer science. I also worked as backup Chief engineer for a few stations as well. I received my First Class Radiotelephone license in 1980 (now its called General Radio Operators License).

There is a broadcasters net on 20m at 14.250 (?) that I check into often.
