Someone on here finally contacted him maybe last year to purchase one of his books.

Could one of the grid bias caps, usually 220 uF, possibly be installed backwards? Positive would go to ground.

As far as l know, there are no schematics available. Tube set up is the same as the D&A Maverick.. What do you need to know? I have repaired many of them and have experience plus many notes on them.

You have to be careful which external "power supply" you get since there are two different models of 300A's. The difference is in the power supply in the amp itself. One uses a full wave rectifier and the other model uses a doubler for the high voltage. If you get the incorrect external power...

6LB6's used to be the cheapest replacements, but the price of them has risen also.

I would replace the small electrolytic caps in the keying circuit, plus the 250 uF's in the 12 VDC power supply. I would replace the 250's with 470's like the later models used. Fixer

A Z28 would be closer to specs. Be sure to check the .005 uF (C11) for shorts or leakage.
