    anyone else tried a monkeymade???

    On mine, the stinger didn't fit that tight. I tried sealing it with RTV, etc....finally just drilled a small (1/16") drain hole. Other than a small issue like that, the antenna seemed pretty good.

    I had one on a big truck. It seemed to work pretty well, but was a heavy antenna that required a strong mount. The only negative thing - it tends to fill with water.

    GALAXY 959

    I have run one for several years now - first in my big truck then in my van. I do not have any mods done to it, but had it peaked and tuned by a very good tech. I run it thru a Palomar 250 kicker. Good receive, clear transmit, no problems. Very good radio for the price.

    I have a 959 with an Astatic 575 / Palomar 225 / Wilson 5000. I must agree with the above posts - when set up by an expert, great radio for the money! :wink:
