Adjusting Cushcraft R10 for 11 meters?

I picked up a very cheap Cushcraft AR10 on ebay. I would like to know the best way to adjust it for working on 11 meters band. I have the ATU MFJ904 but wonder if there is another way of adjusting it from the antenna end ? A half wave length vertical for 11 meter band is 17:3 feet, the...

    President Lincoln TX power problem

My President Lincoln has a problem it is now only pushin out 25 miliwatt instead of 25 watts. Anybody have any ideas of what could have gone wrong ? Does it sound like an expensive repair, nothing else seems wrong apart from the output power.?

Cbers homebrew more than hams ?

This seems to be fair comment in this cilmate we now live and age of radio we are at. The cbers who are often reffered to like 'the bottom feeders' of the radio world simply have to homebrew and modify to get on the air ! It seems a shame that many hams learn so much technical information...

G5RV inverted Vee another project :D

The more I experiment the more I find out and failure in antennas making only leads to more information to work with in future projects. I managed to pick up a nice MFJ tuner in a second hand ham swop meeting localy.

My first Cobra 200GTL an absolute nightmare

Your not the first or last to complain about the Cobra 2000 the only thing that links the new one back to the old trusty 148, is the snake on the front. Take the parts and turn it into a toaster

    Zetagi low pass filter problems

I had a lot of problems with my Zetagi low pass filter. When I connected the pl259 to the SO239 connections and tightened it up fully, all the signals would just vanish. I have now moved on to using a Kenwood low pass filter, yes its about 3 times more in price but it makes a heck of alot of...

Since nobody believes a 148/grant will do 25+ watts...

I put the power down to 20 watts on my Ranger VR900 as I didnt want to over drive the linear amplifier. But yep the grant will easy do that. I also had a cobra 148 that pushed near 30 watts out but didnt last long without having to replace things from burning out.

G5RV inverted Vee another project :D

I have picked up a half G5RV and on Tuesday will be putting it up in an inverted Vee configeration. I also have the use now of a nice MJF Tuner as the antenna building bug has really gotten hold of me. Should I trim the atenna to the correct length for 11 meters or leave it for the tuner...
