I want to keep it looking original as possible. So with that in mind, the protective covering needs to be the same or as close to factory made.

I have a cobra 29LTD and there is no white noise. I did use a signal generator and tuned it to 27.185 and I do get a tone on the speaker. It acts like it is deaf. Any Ideas?

I did check the 4 7watt resistors. All good but I am wondering if they fail under load. 1400v is there

I am going through the setup and all I get is the dot. The voltages are weird on the transistors Q118, voltage on collector should be 85 volts and I am getting 165vdc. On Q117 collector, the voltage should be 5.5 vdc and I get 1.3 vdc. All I get is a spot on the scope and I did check components...

The 644 uses a transformer and a fan. This unit has neither.

has anyone herd of an amp called a Footwarmer?. It has 2 30KD6 tubes, no transformer, looks as that is the way it was build. It is green with load and tune in front with meter and switches as follows. on/off,hi/low, op/ stby, rec/off. No fan on the inside. bob.

Good Contact Mole; I made it to PJ4G in the Netherlands/Antilles on 3/2/08 with 200 watts and worked HI3C in Belgium. 20 meters was open. 200 watts is all I used and I didn't need 150000 like the cb band.
