So tonight I wired my Lafayette 99-4607 desk top mic to my Comstat 23 , and I took nomadradio's advice and removed the tubes one at a time and sprayed the tube sockets with contact cleaner . I also cleaned the contacts on the 99-4607 mic , and "So Far" everything "Seems" to be sounding good. So...

Shadetree , I bought the Comstat 23 in May . It has been recapped , but I'm not sure how long ago . Here's a pic of it's bottom side , showing the caps that are in it . nomadradio , I have a can of that contact cleaner .... so I'll give that a try , and see how that goes .... thanks

Ok .... so recently I was talking away on my Comstat 23 , and it was preforming well . Then after about an hour or so , I was being told that when I'd first key it up it was sounding odd . Not transmitting , sounding scratchy . But then after a few seconds it would clear up and start sounding...

You're welcome ... I'm sure you get an issue with it . I've never understood why people want to pretend to be something they're not.

It's KC2MRU ... I first got my license in 2004 , and then upgraded to a General in 2007.

I said the power supply that I've been using to run my "main radio" was emitting a high level of EMF ... I didn't say what radio it was running , which was probably because I'm "ALSO" a General Class amateur operator . ;)

So I bought an EMF detector today , and I immediately started checking out some things around the house . Of course the typical things set it off ... outlets , the microwave , the modem , the computers .... etc , etc . But the thing that surprised me was the power supply that I've been using to...

Thanks Midnight Special . I had no idea that it was possible to reset an HR-2510 , so I looked up doing the reset ... followed the instructions , and now it's back to normal .... I greatly appreciate your help .

I forgot to mention that it does power up when I turn it on ... it just doesn't have key up , or display . I was just hoping it wasn't a processor or something like that .
