What is the difference between the Mark III and the Mark IV radio? Why is one better than the other? I'm looking for an educated opinion. Let me explain......
The Mark III is a crystal controlled, 23 channel radio and touted as having the best audio between it and the Mark IV.
The Mark...
You should know WHY there are no longer any aluminum CB base station CB antennas and why Maco, A1, Jo-Gunn, etc sell "10 meter" antennas that are tunable from 12 - 10 meters.

Hola, Patrons of WWRF!
We have talked about all kinds of antennas out here and other than Robalo, I don't know of many who are actually building and playing with them.
So I thought, why not have a little antenna building party right here on the WWRF during these next few winter months...

Check out the video where they...
I submit the following:
It's MY opinion that the same 3-element Maco, one fed with a gamma match and one fed with a beta match, will perform better with the beta match.
I'm also willing to put my money where my mouth is.
I'll supply the stock Maco M103C antenna. You (who ever you are)...

So why not build one from scratch, fixing some of the problems of the Pride, and...
Good job on the new layout! It is neat and clean with the radio topics coming first!
Now if we can just get rid of the Politics and Cell Phone sections!
I've come across a 2510 and 2600 that appear to be in good shape (9 out of 10). If all goes as planned, these radios will become available in the swap forum.
I have never owned either one of these radios and don't know the difference between the two radios.
I will open them up to see if...
Back in the mid 80's, there was a young tech here in Southern CA that had some fantastic mods for the Uniden Washington. I remember this radio being able to go real low (for the day) in frequency with a crystal change.
What was really interesting was the audio quality of the radio. I had a...
I've just had the pleasure of cutting apart a Jo-Gunn Son of a Gunn antenna.
Let me tell you, this antenna is HEAVY at the base! It should come at no surprise when you see that they use THREE layers of tubing in the base of this antenna!
Its also amazing, their use of woodscrews to hold...
