OK, worked on a Connex 3300HP that had no PA or Echo.
the problem was in the echo board, and I replaced it.
Now PA works. and echo works, but he does not use that.
But........
this guy claims that while he is outside of his truck, in PA mode,
he can get radio calls also in the PA speaker on...
a few years ago, on 17 meters, there was a guy that
vacationed down in Jamaica and he had an antenna
set up like that, right on the beach several feet
off the sand. I would talk to him during his
Winter vacation down there.
And also there was a guy that would
go to a park near Phoenix AZ and...
ha ha ha. ha ha. when I first started working on these radios a few years ago.
I would get a radio working, and adjust the AMC and ALC, remove
the "NPC" mod, etc. then after I give the working radio back to the owner,
they would take it to "the other guy" to make their radio a "splatter...
I got this from Stryker Radios. The info on the latest version, with the five MOSFETS
in the RF amp. One MOSFET driving four MOSFETs with a cute little fan blowing on them.
I repaired one of these radios recently, but did not have all this info yet.
I had 25 watts carrier, with modulation...
Yes! it's alive! found that a resistor and transistor driving
the power supply main pass transistor to be burned out.
pass transistor is still good. it looks like this supply circuit
is and about the same as in the Cherokee CBS-1000.
I powered the radio with an external 13.8 VDC supply...
hey, I have a cute little Radio Shack TRC-495 base to get working.
so far there is 25 VDC on the 13.7 VDC line. hopefully just the regulator
pass transistor, and nothing else is blown up.
I have been trying all over to find the schematic to this radio.
I found that it is almost the same as a...
OK, my first Stryker to touch, feel, and repair...
It was dead. would not power up. Did a quick internet
search to save time. found that some of these radios had a
burned-up board trace. others had a bad on/off switch.
I quickly found the on/off switch to be bad. So I soldered a piece...
I just don't understand them contests, on the weekends,
hogging up the bands with "CQ Contest, Contest"
then the pause and "contest"
"you're 5 by 9"
but if you are DX then you are "5 by 9 plus"
what a waste!
sometimes I will answer a "contester" and talk real slowly
and tell them about my...
OK on that info about these amps.
I have an update also. -
I connected an old Teaberry tube 3 watt output radio to
this amp. I had the power supply to this amp current limited to a few amps,
for this quick test. I could key-up this amp, relay comes on, but no RF out,
it did not draw much...
took a look over that schematic diagram.
but the bias circuit on this diagram is messed up.
at relay RLY1 - 14,15,16 just a drawing mistake. ?
and that feedback through the 27pF capacitor from the
amplifier output. hmmm!
so will pull the board out, and do some continuity tests.
so the...
Here is my older post. it looks like resistor R14 was changed to 100 ohms.
and I disconnected that screwball input circuit, and just have one
resistor there, and I feed this with a China made Cobra 148...
Hey, I just dug out this Dynamo 175 amp that I was playing with
over a year ago, adjusting the bias, by-passing RX pre-amp,
correcting the RF input circuit. I got it working good.
I always wanted the proper schematic.
and I just found the schematic this morning! maybe?
"AUTOMATIC SIDE BAND"...
bump. bump. I remembered this thread.
just thought I would be an "Adam Henry" here.
was just outside in a T-shirt, dinking a cold beer, with my
cellphone camera in hand. I thought I saw an alligator a few days
ago. I did see a large green Anole lizard.
that one white/yellow flower may...
I have been reading this thread here. I have a local with a 2517 with
maybe the same problem. it was a few weeks ago. He said his 2517 has
weak receive signal. so can you see a high level S-meter reading
and with low audio? is it low audio, or bad receiver problem?
I will cell phone...
