Tall , enlighten me ? 428 ? Motor options in 67 were 326 , 400 . 350 & 455 not available . Are we talking bored out or did you put a Ford 428 in it ? You got me curious . Life NHRA member here .:confused:

Bored and stroked 400 cu.in. You missed the 389 cu.in which I think was the standard.
The stroke limited the RPM to 5800 rpm maximum. Any faster and they almost guaranteed catastrophic engine failure. The engine was bored out so far the was no repair margin left.
 
If I'm correct 389 was available until 1966 , but I'm getting old & forgetful .But there was a early produced GTO w/ 389 option so nothing is set in stone . Just not sure if it was & option in a Bird .:LOL: 389 was Pontiac's " Go To " motor for the big cars starting in the mid 50's " I think " .:whistle::)

My 68 goat was a 389 tri power. Had the vertigate shifter. Also no hideaways. Now, im not positive that was original motor or not.
