Scary Snake Radio "Setting Up" President Lincoln II V3

I cant see changing parts in a new radio.

I don't think he recaps new radio's, I,ve seen him and Lester upgrade certain caps
But never recap a whole new radio

He has on a few occasions.

Part of the issue with guys like Snake Radios and Lester is the BS they convey at times.
These cap and wire upgrades are supposed to somehow give you more output power.
Lester is nowhere near as bad but he has lowered his standards of late.

To top it all off they replace the cheap caps with... well, cheap caps.
Lester and Snake Radios (MOSTLY lester) for example will take out a "Fujicon" cap and replace it with a "ChongX" or "Jwco" cap bought off ebay. Or it might have a "ChongX" and it gets swapped for a "Jwco" cap.

The "cap upgrades" are not "upgrades" - in some cases they may be "downgrades"
At best they are probably lateral changes. You went from a cheap cap, to a cheap cap.

And paid for the pleasure.

or in laymans words "GOT SCREWED"

0:45 thru 5:00 is COMEDY GOLD.
Accidentally recorded a phone call.

$100 per hour to repair surface mount radios.
Does all the radios the same BUT! needs money up front because he cant sell a radio if someone backs out.

10 weeks? Yeah right.

Here is the part that is blatant BS...
If he does the radios "the same way" and he does a radio for someone...
That "someone" backs out. The radio is done. He can just send that to the next guy because they are all done "the same way"
There should be no difference between the done "the same way" vs the radio he had to get for the next customer.

That and you supposedly can't find a tech to work on surface mount radios for less than $100 an hour.

can he screw a lite bulb in a ceiling socket?

I am sure he can do that.

To be fair, not everyone can do surface mount.
They may lack the equipment, they lack the skill....
Both are remedied. Equipment is getting cheaper all the time and skill, well is practised.
