If they end up in your hands Homer, I give it a week before you turn them into dual band, VHF/UHF antennas. With those diameters and "capacitance hats", they should have some good bandwidth too.

    This was 1960’s Dallas.

I don’t see much variation in time going back sixty years from there.

I went to grade school in Chicago starting K in 1975 (no desks). In 1st grade we had desks with the type of bases the OP shows, but they were removed for 2nd grade (77-78) and all of the classrooms had the oval patterns in rows where the old desks were bolted to the floor.
I tried to search for them and came up dry, but I'm quite sure that that's what they are.

I have no clue! But they look like they would make good fishing rod holders :)

Need three, right? Adequate spacing for a wide bench to cover the bases, and then bait/gut table, plus beer cooler.

Fishin’ rods wherever they might fit afterwards.

A couple of cold ones and a guy might get to feeling like takin’ a nap.

Those look like the sublimation manifolds for a Spatial Accumulator to me. Haven't seen one of those for years.

Those were comfortable for 6 or 7 hours every day, weren't they? And they expected you to pay attention with a numb, flat ass.
