Would deffinately try the power filter. Had some alternator noise in my Subaru, and with a quick install of a smaller amperage noise filter, I was much happier.

My A99 worked pretty well for DX'ing, and then I got a Sirio 2016. .. . much harder to make contacts which I believe is because it's a ground plane antenna.

I have the exact same problem with my 9000, and the echo functions as it should. Echo on, talkback on. Could it have something to do with the mic plug on these? Are you running it mobile when you get the squeeling?

Glad you found it. I know it was bugging the crap out of me when I couldn't get the talkback to shut off with echo or not. I'm running this radio in my mobile with an external speaker under my headrest, so feedback was horrendous!

I have a TRC-453 that has intermittant transmit problems, but on A.M only. Traced it down to the large ribbon cable that connects to the board. Best I could tell when I was "probing" around that area that the transmit came back. (I was keyed down the entire time)

I had cleaned my 104 for the last time after having it only last me a couple of weeks in between. Got interested in some different mics and found a couple of these, so I stole the cord to wire into this mic. 4 pin ready to go.
