    Over 100% positive modulation peaks while keeping negative peaks below 100% No idea how much in mckinley, but some other radios do over 200% nice and clean audio. Mike

    Anyway, it is speaker output, not a headphones output, so signal is too strong. That might be a reason of poor performance. Use some ATT before connecting headphones.
