    galaxy 77hml

    Galaxy 77 hml am/fm/ssb. Echo controls are a bit scratchy. Comes with a stock style microphone and power cord. Ssb seems to work, couldn't make any dx contacts with my dipole hung about 9 feet off the ground and no locals to talk to. Was able to hear a few here and there on 38. Got a radio check...

    UNIDEN PRO-505XL: The Most Bang For The Buck;

    the pll does not allow for any channel expansion. the instructions you quoted are for a crystal expatiation. that takes the base frequency's and multiplies it buy the new crystals resonant frequency's. if the pll could be expanded it wouldn't be needed.

    Can't list a President HR2510 on ebay

    now eBay calls you when they remove it. I had a conversation with them a few weeks ago and even read them the law that says they cannot be bought new but can be resold and are legal for use on the 10m band. they stick with there story that they.ore on a list provided to them by the FCC that they...

    Dr. Dipole

    moxons are good antennas, mfj makes a 10m version that cbradiomag reviewed, little spendy at 80 bucks but it doesn't anger the neighbors much. the advantage ti a mox is its rejection. it will have the same gain as a 2 element yagi but much better rejection. it however is mono banded so if your...

    Dr. Dipole

    you would probably be ok with one and setting it up as a sloper. any dipole will need to be high, usually 36-51+ feet at the feedpoint. i would probably buy a better one sp they don't stretch and break like most of the wire and small coax ones do. have you ever considered a moxon antenna...

    Maco Y quad, SuperHawk, PDL-2, Jo Gunn smokin II, Maco V quad?

    height above ground or a non metal roof, 10 foot masting would be ok if mounted above the peak of the roof. if its a metal roof it will act like ground and destroy takeoff angle. in that case a yagi would be better because of the high take off angle to start with. the higher a yagi is mounted...

    OK All U Beam Antenna Freaks.....

    polarization doesnt matter for dx, the only advantage you would have is ground gain being horizontal. polarization matter's a great deal for ground wave, so if your talking local and your horizontal and the other party is vertical you will see around a 20db loss or just over 3s unit.

    OK All U Beam Antenna Freaks.....

    otherwise its 3.3db if i rember right, or about 1/2 s unit

    OK All U Beam Antenna Freaks.....

    i dipole is not a beam, it can be the driven element of a beam but without a reflector and/or a director its not a beam. you will see no gain over what you are using now.

    Passed General class test

    if it were me for a first rig the alincos are ok, the icom 718s as mentioned are good (no fm) the alinco dx 70th are cheap and the icom 706mk2g's are a good shack in a box for cheap.
