Ooh, I like the sound of that already! I don't understand it though.
The great thing about the Hershey Kiss is it's very little. Sitting on top of my black suburban, no one knew it was there. And I could quickly take it off and stick it on the ac unit in a motel when out of town and needed...
I don't know what the values are, I don't even have a meter.
I use the antenna for my VX-8r while I'm in the car. It worked great too! At least I think it did.
It sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Maybe I should get another antenna?
Then the question of what kind...
Gosh I'm sorry.
It is a 2M/70CM Dual Band Magnetic HAM Radio Antenna.
I don't know the manufactuerer, there are no markings. But it looks something like the picture attached.
Thank you!
While on family vacation recently, I discovered the blue tooth feature along with the small compact size of the VX-8r allows for concealment of the radio from my wife.
We both had a lovely time at the outlet mall.
OK guys, after this question I know you will all wonder how I passed the tech exam, and frankly I wonder myself.
Something in the ceiling of a parking garage downtown grabbed my magnetic antenna (cheap hershey kiss) and ripped the magnet and coax cable out of the base.
So, I soldered the coax...
My 2 cents for what it's worth...
Most often, I work in low light conditions and the red/orange makes transitions easier on the eyes.
I have a greenish display on another radio that I use and I really do prefer the red/orange much better.
For my two cents.
I love the fact that this forum is not a FLEE MARKET!
Consider channeling such behavior to one section that is a simple 'Craig's List' sort format.
Hi Scott,
It automatically pairs by it's self. But it does take 30-40 seconds.
It works great too but I need to find another model. This Plantonic earpiece flashes a blue light that is so bright it blinds people when I'm in a dark environment.
YIKES!
I just got it working on my plantronics ear piece. But I didn't know it for a minute or so.
Eveyrone else in greater Raleigh knew it though! I looked over and saw the red tx light.
Becareful to set the Bluetooth menu # 17 setting to #17/vox:ptt.
I had mine on #17/vox:vox...
Have you tried messing with the VOX menu function # 108?
It give you option for off, low and high...gain I guess.
I'm still messing with my two ear pieces. So they are both pairing but both have only partiel functionality.
White Button on Side of Card
Does anyone know what the white button on the side of the blu tooth card is?
I noticed it when I installed the card, and of course I had to push it.
Crazy,
I have a Jabra earpiece that will pair-up but it does not receive. When I ppt the red tx light comes on but no one can hear me.
I have a Plantronics that will pair-up. It will receive audio but the ppt will not engage and make the red tx ligh come on.

Pairing the Blue Teeth
Pairing the blue teeth.
Per the instructions on page 72, I pressed the v/m button but nothing happens.
The radio is set to the 6111 pin, but still no-go.
Can anyone offer advise on pairing?
Marc Duncan
If you order the BU-1 Bluetooth card make sure to order the Connector Board and an extra Sealer Plate.
HRO sent me the BU-1 card without these.

RT Sys product is shipping
I think the website needs updating. I received an email today from them saying the product has shipped.
When I spoke with them on the phone yesterday they promissed Friday ship date too. I'm glad I called.
I have one problem though. The cable they are sending...
