Not pushing this product, there are several brands available. This video and the other suggested videos on the side bar will give you an idea on how they work. The kits are available on Amazon and other online sources. Just one of many ways to filter water!

    KK6SJJ,

This is the kind of thing I have been thinking of. I have heard good things about the Berkey filters but have not spoken with anyone that has used them. Hopefully someone here has some input.

Not bad at 0.5 micron and it appears very easy to use. IMO, I still prefer the Sawyer.

The Sawyer Mini™ is rated at 0.1 micron ABSOLUTE (5 times smaller than 0.5 micron) which means there are zero pores are larger than 0.1 micron.

Sawyer Point ZeroTWO™ Bucket Purifier Assembly Kit is rated at 0.02 micron (25 times smaller than 0.5 micron) and can gravity filter 170 gallons per day.

Didn't catch the .5 micron bit, the filters I looked at on Amazon were advertised at .2 micron. I've looked at several charts for chlorinating and they have all called for 8 drops for clear water and 16 drops for cloudy water. Better safe than sorry though!

that will remove some bacteria, but,... bacteria is as small as 0.2 Microns and will pass through it.

Iwent to Sawyer filter a few years ago, actually 2 Sawyer filters, their gravity feed filter for camping with the Mrs and the Mini for my 24 hour SAR pack. No complaints here. I had at 1 time a PUR filter, it was good to, just more complicated to field clean.

Best bang for the buck installed in an RV.

The water is so filthy in Las Cruces NM that filters clog within 20 gallons of water.
