Tightening head on Turner Super Sidekick

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get chrome cap cover off the back to tighten the head on a Turner Super Sidekick - is it the same as the Turner +3 to get at that screw?

I'm owned tons of +3's but never had a super sidekick with the chrome head so wasn't sure if it was the same. Old posts on here say it is but for the life of me with my thinnest blade I can't get underneath it and it's just damaging it at this point.

Try using low heat from a hair dryer or ??? to soften the glue. The last one I did, the glue was brittle so it came off easily. Cleaned and re-glued when done.

Cool, yeah I'll try some heat, I've never had one this crazy to get off, trying not to damage it but the chrome seems softer than the ones on the +3 to get under.

UPDATE - Got it. Took some serious prying, actually snapped the razor blade tip. Some tiny damage to the piece side and a scratch but nothing awful. Head tightened!

I've been trying for a couple of days to get that Chrome disc out of there, and I basically scratched it all up when it was in pristine condition. What if I drilled a hole in it and stick a hook in there and pull it out? Cuz it don't seem to be coming out any other way. If I drill a hole am I going to hit something in there? When I put it back in I can cover it with a sticker or something.

You are good. Drill a small hole and pry it off. Just a Philips head screw back there. If you come up with something the fits the spot and looks normal post it up. I have some with no disc. Looked a long time ago but never found anything.

Turner Super Sidekick issue

Just wired up a SSK for my Stryker and noticed it has noise when keyed. A hissing, rushing noise. I would appreciate ideas. Recap?? Here is a video of the problem.

If you purchase one of those Hole Punch sets there is a punch in that set that is perfect for punching perfect replica using sticky back chrome sheets you can find at Hobby lobby or on eBay for that matter. I used this method on dozens of microphones that I did full restorations for the customer.

Here's the info post I put on the wrong thread hopefully it will transfer to here.
Okay. Here's some Hardware info.. the screw that holds the mic element housing together is 5/32 8-32 thread by 1 inch. I'm replacing mine cuz the drill bit hit it. I didn't realize the disc was so thin and easy to drill through. I'm going to reuse the disk I have with the hole drilled in it however you can get a 3/16 number 10 washer that's exactly the same size. Once the washer is in I'm going to cover the hole with foil tape. Cut it the same size as the disc . Maybe an exacto knife would be best . They use it in heat and air applications, it can be bought at any hardware store. I happen to have some so I don't need to buy the roll. It's very Chrome looking. You can also use some googly eyes or a silver star. LOL
