have one of those lamps where u touch the top of it and it comes on.everytime i key up it turns on....tv and everthing else isnt botherd by the radio.is this normal ?

have bearcat scanner i just use for nearbye firehall scanning.trouble is all the other freqs do fine but i cant squelch out the noise on the nearbye fire hall freq..its bout four hundred yards away..i always used to be able to and cant figger out why not now..

best advice i can give is dont GO to BOBS CB IN PA.

Beetle..volume dosent seem to make a difference but whats weird is the hum gets noticably loader when i turn the mic gain on the radio down and softer when i turn the mic gain up..da,ya think it mite be some kinda rf feedback problem ?

Beetle,tried a different newer powersupply and still the same hum..got some spray around here somwhere will try that next on the conrtrols . are u sapposed to pull the knob off and spray or just spray around them ?

noticed when squelch turned on theres now a noticable hum on the radio ,also noticed when i just touch the volume or squelch theres a loud staticky noise..any ideas ?

the meter is a diamond sx-200..the far left switch is the power settings 200..20..5..watts....the next switch is.. power..calibrate..swr..the far right switch is ref..frw..off..now,, to ck swr u cal then hit swr n u get the swr..to ck reflect u move the switch up from forward to ref n u get the...

i dont realy recomember but i dont recall if the first 2970,s the one with the gold lite had a heat sink on the bottom..the version with the green lite does i know becauce i have one..

i never realy understood the reflect feature on my swr meter..i added a mfj line isolator to the coax with a small jumper and the swr went up a tad from doing so but the reflect reading stayed exactly the same,n maybe even a little better,,reads almost nothing..which is more critical,reflect or...

what about long runs of coax laying on the ground ?

have normal 213 coax.it goes across the yard about40 feet.laid boards over it so lawn tractor wouldnt smash it.been this way bout 3 years and lifted the board and noticed the coax now has sunk bout 2 inches into the ground.i read somwhere once they make specail coax that u can bury.was wondering...
